Principal Software Engineer - Build Huge Systems! Remote-first company - only in the office when needed (approximately once a week or less often) Work on absolutely huge applications - robust, scalable, distributed systems Latest technologies - work with the latest versions of Python, AWS and Kubernetes This Principal Python Engineer is with a Dublin-based company in the technology sector. They're an emerging giant in their respective industry, with massive profits throughout 2022 and 2023. With their culture being very engineering-centric, they're working with extremely up-to-date software and are interested in like-minded individuals keen to take on new challenges. The main premise behind this new role of Principal Software Engineer is that they currently have a massive application with terrabytes of data flowing through it. You'd take charge in upgrading the scalability for the already massive application. This means that there's plenty of opportunities to make an impact and directly contribute to the company's success. In addition to putting your coding experience to the test, you'd be working closely with the VP of engineering, as well as a team of ambitious junior and senior engineers. The ideal candidate for this Principal Python Engineer role will have strong experience with Python and AWS, as well as a good understanding of Kubernetes. Previous experience with team management, microservices and huge sets of data is nice to have but not mandatory. This is a remote-first role with a company based in Dublin, Ireland. Office attendance is not mandatory but is requested during critical launches, important meetings, etc. - approximately once a week or less often. You will: Work on scalable and robust software solutions for the company Mentor and coach junior engineers with your years of experience Closely collaborate with the VP of software engineering You have: 10+ years of software engineering experience with robust, scalable and distributed systems 3+ years of experience with Python, Kubernetes and cloud-based software (AWS is preferred) Excellent communication skills Salary / Remuneration Up to €130,000 (DOE) + bonus, share options, health, dental and life insurance, remote-first model of work, 25 days of annual leave and others.
