Private Client Solicitor

A highly experienced Private Client Solicitor is sought to join a well-established law firm in Kilkenny, focusing on probate, estate planning, and property transactions.

About the Role

  • Provide expert advice on probate, wills, estate planning, and residential property matters.
  • Manage a portfolio of private client cases, including drafting wills, administering estates, handling trust matters, and advising on property transactions.
  • Work closely with executors and beneficiaries, ensuring the efficient and transparent administration of estates.
  • Advise on succession planning and family wealth protection, offering bespoke solutions for clients' needs.
  • Manage conveyancing transactions from start to finish, liaising with lenders, estate agents, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth process.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on probate and estate planning, including the drafting of wills, enduring powers of attorney, and family trusts.
  • Manage the administration of estates, from obtaining Grants of Probate to distributing assets to beneficiaries.
  • Provide guidance on tax implications for estate planning and inheritance matters.
  • Handle property transactions, including residential sales, purchases, and transfers of ownership, ensuring compliance with relevant legal requirements.
  • Draft and review legal documents related to both probate and property matters, such as contracts for sale, deeds, and probate applications.

Requirements

  • At least 2+ years' post-qualification experience in private client work, particularly in probate, wills, estate administration, and property law.
  • Strong academic background and thorough understanding of Irish probate and property laws.
  • Proven experience in estate planning, drafting wills, and administering estates, with the ability to handle complex or high-value matters.
  • Excellent knowledge of property transactions, including residential sales, purchases, and conveyancing procedures.
