Job Description

A Process Engineer is sought to join a West Clare-based client, with a focus on lean manufacturing, quality, and service.

The successful candidate will possess a high level of initiative, ability to handle multiple responsibilities, and a results-driven approach to ensure the successful completion of projects assigned by the Quality and Technical Manager. Projects will be designed to assist the plant in achieving business goals and objectives as they relate to productivity, quality, and service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing lean and six sigma principles to manage projects within a World Class Manufacturing (WCM) program.
  • Implementing product and process changes to satisfy customer requirements and quality management system (QMS) standards.
  • Performing root-cause analysis with process and test data to implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Understanding risk management and the process-based approach to quality and driving continuous improvements.
  • Responding to manufacturing problems in a timely manner to maintain and support production.
  • Supporting and coordinating the implementation of capital investment programs.
  • Ensuring site compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Providing technical support to customer service, sales, and quality assurance.
  • Supporting the implementation and upgrade of 'Manufacturing 4.0' into the facility.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • A degree in an engineering or science-related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • High level of PC skills (MS Package, Minitab, JMP, etc.).
  • Knowledge of pFMEA, 8D, DMAIC, and Kaizen processes is desirable.
  • Lean manufacturing, six sigma, and statistical analysis experience (six sigma green belt a plus).
  • Self-motivated, able to make independent decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills as well as attention to detail.
