We currently have a requirement for a Process Safety Engineer for one of our client sites in Cork. This is a key role as it supports operations and facilities, helping them manage safety properly and assuring compliance to company safety requirements. Responsibilities Provide frontline process safety technical support and expertise to process teams, support incident follow-up, non-routine/troubleshooting activity, change controls and pre-start up safety reviews. Provide process safety technical support to new product introductions, emergency response, maintenance, engineering, and site projects. Site program owner of several Process Safety programs such as HAZOPs, pre-start up safety reviews, incident management, etc. Facilitate / support high quality Process Hazard Reviews and other process safety studies completion to meet project and compliance schedules. Develop & deliver high quality process safety and emergency response training and communications. Complete and review process safety engineering calculations and models Complete and review process safety information (e.g., chemical reactivity, equipment design information, safe operating limits) Ensure a safe working environment by following/improving safety rules and supporting a mature safety culture with integrated safety practices and open safety conversations. Interact with external (e.g., service providers, vendors, consortiums, academia) and internal partners (e.g., global engineering, other sites, etc.) as required. Liaising with and prepare reports for Safety regulatory agencies and corporate auditing groups. Support site audits and self-assessments, management reviews and external regulatory audits Drive implementation of site process safety initiatives. Complete site performance metric reviews and analysis Provide specialist advice to management and workforce by interpreting process safety legislation, corporate standards, policies, and industry guidance. Ensure company compliance and continuous improvement in Process Safety regulations, standards, systems, and programmes. Utilise root cause analysis techniques to investigate issues and deliver robust and sustainable corrective and preventative actions. Support process teams and participate in required process flow teams meetings. Qualifications A degree in Chemical or Process Engineering, or relevant Chemistry, Engineering or Science Discipline. Minimum of 4 years process engineering experience in industry. Advantage if in Pharmaceutical / Biopharmaceutical process design, preferably with an EPC firm working on PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing, etc. Existing site experience an advantage Self-motivated and self-driven Good interpersonal and communication skills essential.
