Job Description

You will be responsible for managing a retail procurement spend of $11 Billion dollars across North America and Europe.

Negotiate large-scale, complex national retail contracts for circa $100m+ in aggregate annual purchasing.

Deliver procurement synergies by standardising efforts, finding opportunities of scale, consolidating vendor partners & distribution points, challenging current business models, and promoting business unit marketing refinements.

Provide strategic & tactical category guidance on key categories, based on national trends, internal & external best practice, and company performance objectives.

Establish cross-functional teams to diagnose, quantify, and address regional & national level opportunities and alternative revenue sources.

Unite autonomous business units around common value-enhancing principles, new programs, and offerings, and relevant macro-level opportunities.

Establish and maintain an effective, efficient communication process to and with VPs, Heads of Department, and Directors.

Lead the effort to scale successful regional programs to multi-region or national status.

Support the establishment of national benchmarks, performance markers, and objectives.

Prioritise quickly and efficiently to rapidly changing needs and situations.

Demonstrate great organisational skills.

You will require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Marketing, Economics, business, or MBA, with combinations of related experience and education considered.
  • Min 5 years negotiation and contract management in related marketing and/or merchandising within a (B2C) retail environment.
  • Multi-unit leadership experience in convenience store merchandising, operations, related retail, with management experience ideal.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of key financial principles (internal) and macroeconomic (external) and cost drivers (e.g. commodities indices).
  • Advanced understanding of core marketing principles, including brand development/management, merchandising, pricing theory, and promotional strategies.
  • Experience with market data analysis, interpretation, and research using tools like Power BI.
  • Advanced Ariba, MS Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Word preferred.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor the message and deliver to a wide range of internal stakeholders.
