Job Description

Job Purpose
Nelipak Healthcare Packaging Clara is seeking to fulfill a Product Engineering role in one of their busiest and most dynamic departments.
Product engineering sits within the R&D department and is the heartbeat of our Clara facility, tying together many of the other functions that are critical to the delivery of our end product.
The successful candidate will have a variety of responsibilities including the origination and authoring of specifications and artworks for a vast portfolio of medical industry customers.
Exposure to the converting equipment, bespoke tooling and processes involved will provide a stimulating and challenging environment for a candidate that wants action-packed and fast-paced days.
Full training will be provided and there is great opportunity to grow within the role, expanding the project scope and project types.
In this role you will be responsible for:

Revision of current product specifications and drawings for customers and internal changes.
Development and control of new customer specifications.
Liaise with customers regarding artworks and specifications, and advise on the capabilities of BHP Ireland Ltd.
manufacturing.
Development, ordering, and control of all process-related tooling (i.e., dies and plates).
Analysis of machine capabilities and identification of potential problems with tooling compatibility.
Co-ordinate all orders of tooling through the system and liaise with suppliers, customers, planning, and sales.
Monitor the status of pending orders.
Constant liaison with Quality, Planning, Sales, Production, and Customer Service regarding status & approval of pending specifications.
Review customer complaints and ensure appropriate actions for the product engineering department.
Project work and other ad hoc duties.
Maintenance & update of internal MRP system (MFG Pro).
Liaise with customers and departmental supervisors on an ongoing basis, taking appropriate action in their support as required.

Requirements:

Third level education or equivalent work experience
Background/familiarity with CAD
Strong problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills
Strong computer literacy, comfortable learning new systems
Good analytical skills and attention to detail
Motivated individual with initiative and eagerness to learn

Advantageous:

Prior knowledge of SAP is beneficial
Previous exposure to high volume manufacturing is beneficial
