Production Unit Manager

Leitrim's leading medical device manufacturer seeks a skilled Production Unit Manager to oversee assembly production, ensuring efficiency, timely delivery, and high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of assembly production to meet company goals of efficiency, delivery, quality, and cost targets.
  • Ensure adequate resources are available to meet production requirements and reorganize resources as needed.
  • Guarantee that all procedures are maintained and followed, updating systems and procedures to meet assembly demands.
  • Liaise with departments, including Engineering, Quality, and Warehouse/Shipping, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Introduce new products to production, ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded in terms of quality and delivery performance.
  • Manage the Assembly/Extrusion department to maintain optimum performance and staff motivation.
  • Ensure the continuing development of staff through training, coaching, and experience.
  • Handle disputes and grievances within the area of responsibility in compliance with Company procedures and Irish legislation.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out according to relevant Medical and Industry standards and internal procedures.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with budgets and plans.
  • Demonstrate leadership and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S), Environmental, and Energy Management Systems.
  • Direct and support staff to contribute to the effectiveness of these management systems.
  • Adhere to Plant Safety requirements and Health & Safety requirements relating to your work.
  • Be aware of potential environmental impacts associated with your work and the implications of non-compliance.
  • Contribute to enhanced energy performance by conserving energy where possible.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement activities of the OH&S, Environmental, and Energy Management systems.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Production Engineering, Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent Design or Engineering qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Medical Devices, including the manufacture of catheters and stents.
  • 2-3 years' experience in managing Production in the Medical Device Industry.
  • Professional and knowledgeable with ability to develop strong relationships with customers and potential customers.
  • Project Management capability and experience would be an additional benefit.
