Job Description

Job Summary: Lead production operations team to achieve quality, customer service, and cost goals while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and lean thinking.

The Production Unit Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of a key node in the supply chain, providing polymer components to internal Boston Scientific customers worldwide. This includes managing multilayer micro-extrusion, injection overmoulding, and precision balloon forming processes to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans with Engineering and Quality Managers to achieve departmental goals.
  • Leverage Lean initiatives to improve safety, quality, and customer indicators, reduce waste, and enhance processes and labour efficiencies.
  • Partner with Finance, Human Resources, Quality, and Production Planning to optimize department performance.
  • Establish cross-functional team relationships and work collaboratively with peers to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Develop and implement department budgets and resource allocation strategies.
  • Drive functional excellence initiatives and deliver high-quality functional deliverables.
  • Ensure department compliance with regulatory and GMP requirements.

About the Role: This is a challenging and rewarding leadership opportunity that requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and systems, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess a broad in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems and have demonstrated the ability to specify appropriately.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Engineering field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in an operations environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity
  • Strong manufacturing line layout and flow competencies
  • Strategic and critical thinking skills
  • Supply chain and capacity planning competencies
