Power System Studies Engineer required to manage and carry out technical power system studies, assist with training, development, and innovation in a dynamic team.
Join our dedicated Power System Studies (PSS) teams in the Network System Services (NSS) Group, a key part of the Transmission and Distribution Engineering (TDE) business.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out and document technical studies such as power flow, short-circuit, transient stability studies, protection relay settings, and other technical studies.
- Understand the technical, commercial, and financial nature of power system studies projects and direct and manage coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Meet requirements for project safety, quality, programme, and budget, and monitor projects from initial contact through to final delivery.
- Travel nationally and internationally, with flexibility in all aspects of the role.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years work experience.
- Strong technical capability.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills, with experience of presenting and communicating complex topics to a wide range of audiences.
- Self-motivated with ability to project manage and prioritise own work.
- Ability to work and share knowledge and competencies within a team structure.
- Ability to make quality decisions and judgement, with a logical, yet imaginative and innovative approach to problem solving.
