Job Description

Power System Studies Engineer required to manage and carry out technical power system studies, assist with training, development and innovation, and work on projects from initial contact through to final delivery.

We are a key part of the Transmission and Distribution Engineering (TDE) business with a dedicated group of engineers and consultants providing specialised power system modelling and analysis services to clients in Ireland and overseas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out and documenting technical studies such as power flow, short-circuit, transient stability studies, protection relay settings and other technical studies.
  • Understanding the technical, commercial, and financial nature of the power system studies projects and being able to direct and manage coordination of same with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Meeting requirements for project safety, quality, programme and budget, and monitoring projects from the initial contact through to final delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years work experience
  • Strong technical capability
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills, with experience of presenting and communicating complex topics to a wide range of audiences
  • Self-motivated with ability to project manage and prioritise own work
  • Ability to work and share knowledge and competencies within a team structure
  • Ability to make quality decisions and judgement, with a logical, yet imaginative and innovative approach to problem solving
