**Professor of Restorative Dentistry** We are seeking a Professor of Restorative Dentistry with a strong background and track record in Prosthodontics, and a strong focus on Endodontics and Periodontics. **Job Summary** The RCSI School of Dentistry is expanding the academic team and is now recruiting a Professor of Restorative Dentistry to lead the delivery of dental education and clinical activities in the respective disciplines. **Key Responsibilities** * Offer leadership and guidance within their areas of specialisation * Engage in all dimensions of pedagogy and research to help launch the BDS Programme * Demonstrate academic leadership, vision and strategy, contributing to the education, assessment, clinical teaching, delivery of clinical services, research activities and service development of the programme * Provide leadership, input and guidance to academic colleagues working on curriculum development, simulation and practice development strategies * Contribute to the implementation and setting up of Dental Education Facilities (DEFs) * Be an integral part of the teaching faculty resource team who will be responsible for delivering and teaching the new undergraduate dentistry programme * Provide guidance and leadership in collaboration with academic colleagues in delivery of an assessment framework and execution of same * Integrate innovative teaching methods, technology, and research findings into the curriculum to enhance students' learning experience **Requirements** * A strong track record of academic achievements, holding a senior academic position, with an extensive record in academic leadership in the delivery of dental education and clinical activities (teaching, delivery of patient care, clinical supervision and management) in the respective disciplines * Demonstrated expertise and extensive experience over a sustainable period of time in the practice of Restorative Dentistry (Prosthodontics, Endodontics and Periodontics) * Demonstrated expertise and extensive experience over a sustained period of time in the teaching and examining of Restorative Dentistry (undergraduate and/or postgraduate) * Holds a Ph D or level 10 equivalent in an area relevant to dentistry or dental education * Is in possession of an ISFE exit fellowship in Restorative Dentistry * Is Registered as a dentist with the Dental Council in Ireland or holds a qualification recognised by the Dental Council in Ireland for registration as a dentist in Ireland * Is a recognised international expert in the subject * Has a national/international profile in teaching, examining and research in the subject * Is a team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills * Is a problem solver, able to work under pressure, think outside the box, and be innovative * Has experience in the development of new educational programme / significant programme reform
