**Professor of Restorative Dentistry** We are seeking a Professor of Restorative Dentistry with a strong background in Prosthodontics, Endodontics, and Periodontics to join our academic team at RCSI. **About the Role** * Provide leadership and guidance in Restorative Dentistry * Engage in pedagogy and research to launch the BDS Programme * Demonstrate academic leadership, vision, and strategy * Contribute to the education, assessment, clinical teaching, delivery of clinical services, research activities, and service development of the programme * Provide leadership in preparation for and delivery of teaching materials and clinical teaching * Contribute to the implementation and setting up of Dental Education Facilities * Be an integral part of the teaching faculty resource team * Provide guidance and leadership in delivery of an assessment framework * Integrate innovative teaching methods, technology, and research findings into the curriculum * Sustain an independent and highly productive research profile **Key Responsibilities** * Leadership and guidance in Restorative Dentistry * Pedagogy and research to launch the BDS Programme * Academic leadership, vision, and strategy * Education, assessment, clinical teaching, delivery of clinical services, research activities, and service development of the programme * Preparation for and delivery of teaching materials and clinical teaching * Implementation and setting up of Dental Education Facilities * Teaching and research in Restorative Dentistry * Development of new educational programmes and significant programme reform **Requirements** * Strong track record of academic achievements * Senior academic position with extensive record in academic leadership in the delivery of dental education and clinical activities * Demonstrated expertise and extensive experience in the practice of Restorative Dentistry (Prosthodontics, Endodontics, and Periodontics) * Demonstrated expertise and extensive experience in the teaching and examining of Restorative Dentistry (undergraduate and/or postgraduate) * PhD or level 10 equivalent in an area relevant to dentistry or dental education * ISFE exit fellowship in Restorative Dentistry * Registered as a dentist with the Dental Council in Ireland or holds a qualification recognised by the Dental Council in Ireland for registration as a dentist in Ireland * Recognised international expert in the subject * National/international profile in teaching, examining, and research in the subject * Team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills * Problem solver, able to work under pressure, think outside the box, and be innovative * Experience in the development of new educational programmes and significant programme reform **About RCSI** RCSI is Ireland's only focused health sciences university, with Ireland's largest medical school and one of the leading health sciences institutions in the world.
