**Professor of Restorative Dentistry** We are seeking a Professor of Restorative Dentistry to join our academic team at RCSI, a leading health sciences university in Ireland. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, making our university stronger and ensuring we hire the best talent. **Job Description** The Professor of Restorative Dentistry will offer leadership and guidance in their areas of specialization, actively engaging in all dimensions of pedagogy and research to help launch the BDS Programme. The postholder will demonstrate academic leadership, vision, and strategy, contributing to the education, assessment, clinical teaching, delivery of clinical services, research activities, and service development of the programme. **Key Responsibilities** * Provide leadership and guidance in Restorative Dentistry, with a focus on Prosthodontics, Endodontics, and Periodontics * Engage in all dimensions of pedagogy and research to help launch the BDS Programme * Demonstrate academic leadership, vision, and strategy in the education, assessment, clinical teaching, delivery of clinical services, research activities, and service development of the programme * Provide leadership, input, and guidance to academic colleagues working on curriculum development, simulation, and practice development strategies * Play a leadership role in preparation for and delivery of teaching materials and clinical teaching in the Simulated Dental Learning Environment (SDLE) and in the clinical environment * Contribute to the implementation and setting up of Dental Education Facilities (DEFs) * Be an integral part of the teaching faculty resource team, responsible for delivering and teaching the new undergraduate dentistry programme * Provide guidance and leadership in collaboration with academic colleagues in delivery of an assessment framework and execution of same * Integrate innovative teaching methods, technology, and research findings into the curriculum to enhance students' learning experience * Sustain an independent and highly productive research profile aligned with established priority areas of research within the school and across RCSI **Requirements** * A strong track record of academic achievements, holding a senior academic position, with an extensive record in academic leadership in the delivery of dental education and clinical activities * Demonstrated expertise and extensive experience over a sustainable period of time in the practice of Restorative Dentistry (Prosthodontics, Endodontics, and Periodontics) * Demonstrated expertise and extensive experience over a sustained period of time in the teaching and examining of Restorative Dentistry (undergraduate and/or postgraduate) * A PhD or level 10 equivalent in an area relevant to dentistry or dental education * ISFE exit fellowship in Restorative Dentistry * Registered as a dentist with the Dental Council in Ireland or holds a qualification recognized by the Dental Council in Ireland for registration as a dentist in Ireland * A recognized international expert in the subject * A national/international profile in teaching, examining, and research in the subject * A team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills * A problem solver, able to work under pressure, think outside the box, and be innovative * Experience in the development of new educational programmes or significant programme reform **Employee Benefits** * 26.5 days annual leave (minimum of 20 days annual leave, plus an additional 6.5 Privilege days) pro rata * Flexible/hybrid working options for colleagues across many roles * Additional leave options, including paid maternity leave, paternity/parental leave, study leave * 7% Employer pension contribution * Onsite gym * Childcare support * 20% discount at Giraffe * Free eye test and annual flu vaccination * Tax Saver commuter tickets and Bike to Work schemes * A site sustainability team focusing on the environmental initiatives; Green Campus Initiative * Competitively priced café and restaurant * Equality, Diversity & Inclusion forums, and network groups * Employee assistance programme with Spectrum Life * Learning and Development training programmes, including Linked In Learning for career progression * Discounted services, including GP visits, 10% off dental, staff parking, mobile tariffs, Group Scheme discount on numerous brands * Sports and social club, including yoga, Pilates, fitness classes, Zumba, running club, social evenings, Summer BBQ * Ticket Draws for events, including Rugby, Taste of Dublin, Dublin Horse Show, theatre, music & comedy events
