Job Description

This is a 12-month fixed-term assignment requiring an onsite presence in Dublin city centre two days per week. The role can also be taken on by daily rate contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the successful delivery of large-scale transport programmes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including government bodies, transport operators, and community groups, to foster strong working relationships and achieve programme goals.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive programme plans, identifying key milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies to ensure smooth execution.
  • Lead and mentor a team of project managers and technical experts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Oversee the programme budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and financial accountability.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in programme management at a director level, with a strong background in the transport sector or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex challenges into actionable plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is desirable. Experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies essential.
  • A relevant third-level qualification in engineering, project management, or a related field is preferred.
