Programme Director - Transport Sector Location: Dublin, Ireland Company: Morgan McKinley Please note: This is an assignment with one of our clients via Morgan McKinley and will require an onsite presence in Dublin city centre two days per week. Morgan McKinley is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Programme Director to lead a high-impact programme within the transport sector for our client, a prominent authority in Ireland. This is a unique opportunity to drive strategic initiatives and influence the future of public transport in Ireland. Key Responsibilities: Programme Leadership: Oversee the successful delivery of large-scale transport programmes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, timelines, and budgets. Stakeholder Management: Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including government bodies, transport operators, and community groups, to foster strong working relationships and achieve programme goals. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive programme plans, identifying key milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies to ensure smooth execution. Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of project managers and technical experts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Budget Management: Oversee the programme budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and financial accountability. Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Key Requirements: Proven Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience in programme management at a director level, with a strong background in the transport sector or a related field. Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex challenges into actionable plans. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Project Management Certification: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is desirable. Experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies essential Educational Background: A relevant third level qualification in engineering, project management, or a related field is preferred.
