Position: Project DirectorLocation: GalwayTemporary RoleSalary: Negotiable The Role:We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a global medical device company, an experienced Project Director to work on the development of a state of the art manufacturing facility in the West of Ireland. This role is a temporary role, however the client is also open to permanent applications.As a Project Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of a large scale construction project. This includes developing business plans, managing cost control systems, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. You will play a key role in leading the project team, managing subcontractors, and ensuring that all project activities are executed within the specified time, cost, quality, and safety parameters. Your leadership will ensure the project’s compliance with industry standards and client requirements.Responsibilities: Develop and implement the project’s business plan, including cost control systems, cash flow management, and billable schedules. Produce key project documents such as the procurement plan, design plan, construction program, s-curve, and histogram. Ensure site establishment is mobilised in accordance with the business plan. Liaise with the client and design teams to address procurement and engineering issues, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project. Develop and enforce project safety and quality plans, ensuring that the project team adheres to all relevant standards and safety obligations. Lead and manage the site team and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with the project’s specifications, contract requirements, and installation standards. Oversee the day-to-day site activities, ensuring project delivery within time, cost, and quality constraints. Conduct weekly progress meetings with subcontractors and monthly team meetings to review milestones. Collaborate with the Operations Director to agree on a staff training plan and ensure that all operatives are adequately trained for their roles. Ensure the project team is familiar with contract requirements (JCT, NEC, etc.), and manage project documentation, including testing, commissioning, final accounts, and post-contract completion. Conduct a post-completion review to identify lessons learned, presenting findings to the Operations Directors for future improvement.Qualifications/Requirements: 10-15 years of experience in senior construction roles, with a focus on high-value projects (€100M+), ideally in the medical device or manufacturing sectors. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering or construction-related discipline. Strong skills in managing stakeholders and leading teams, ensuring smooth project delivery and effective communication. Proficient in using project management software and tools. Expertise in construction industry standards, project contracts (JCT, NEC), and local authority requirements. Proven ability to manage large, multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery. #J-18808-Ljbffr
