Job Description
Project Engineer required to coordinate and implement projects supporting manufacturing requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in an Engineering discipline and 2-3 years' experience in a medium-sized manufacturing environment, preferably in a project engineering or similar role.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for:
- Defining detailed project scope through meetings and discussions
- Coordinating all project activities, including design, specification, sourcing, purchasing, installation, commissioning, and validation
- Preparing Memos of Justification for capital expenditure approval
- Maintaining and controlling project costs and schedule
- Liaising with the HSE Department to ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements are met
- Designing and developing equipment to meet production requirements
- Modifying equipment for process upgrades
- Arranging provision of facilities, including equipment and utilities for new products, processes, or upgrades
- Identifying areas for new technologies to improve quality, efficiency, and service
- Developing specifications for equipment or facility design/supply
- Arranging acceptance testing of equipment
- Providing technical support for projects from other departments
- Supervising technicians, contractors, and service personnel during installation and commissioning
Specific experience requirements include:
- Use of Permit to Work System or other Safe Systems of Work to control engineering activities
- Ownership for preparation of capital expenditure request and cost estimates
- Ownership, management, and reporting of part or complete project budget spend
- Preparation of key project documents: Project Scope, User Requirement Specification, Vendor Audit Reports
- Responsibility for direct supervision of vendor engineers and contractors during engineering works on single or multiple capital projects
Desirable experience requirements include:
- Bulk Tabletting Manufacturing, including Granulation, Mixing, Compaction, Coating
- High-speed tablet packaging, including Blistering, Sachetting, Cartoning, Labelling, Printing, Vision Systems, and other associated technologies
- Topicals cream manufacture, including Compounding, homogenisation, tube filling, and cartoning
- Sterile fill finish of liquid into vials, ampoules, including Compounding, sterile filtration, filter integrity testing, and filling
- Sterilisation, including Porous Load Autoclave, Terminal Sterilisation, Dry Heat Sterilisation
- Design and fabrication of process equipment for use in sterile manufacturing, including vessels, filling parts, etc.
- Small-scale civil and construction/building works, including drains, excavations, site services, landscaping, renovations, alterations, and decoration within a pharmaceutical facility
