Job Description
We are seeking a contract Project Engineer to manage and execute projects through their full life cycle, from initiation to closeout. The projects will focus on Process Utilities and Automation/IT (AIT) systems, supporting both capital and expense projects.
This is an initial 12 month hourly rate contract with possibility of further extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage safety, financials, schedules, and scope across multiple projects.
- Ensure projects comply with engineering best practices, company policies, and regulations.
- Liaise with global teams for engineering, EHS, and procurement support.
- Develop project scope, cost, and budgets; present to governance for approval.
- Lead and support project teams throughout the project life cycle.
- Oversee financial management, project prioritization, and spend targets.
- Manage the design process to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Plan and schedule project timelines while coordinating with key internal teams and managing external factors like inspections.
- Conduct risk management, identifying project risks and generating mitigation strategies.
- Create and execute detailed project execution plans, including procurement of equipment.
- Drive innovation by applying operational excellence tools in project design and construction.
- Manage start-up, commissioning, and validation activities for all equipment and systems.
- Ensure proper project closeout following the stage-gate process.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing projects within a pharmaceutical environment.
- Demonstrable skills in managing projects through initiation to closeout.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, SAP, and budgeting tools (desirable).
- Experience with biologic manufacturing sites (desirable).
- Proactive, with strong communication and team management skills.
