Job Description
Summary: Co-ordinate and implement projects to support manufacturing requirements. Project Engineer with 2-3 years' experience in a medium-sized manufacturing environment, preferably in a project engineering or similar role. Self-starter with good communication skills, logical thinking and organisational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define project scope through meetings/discussions
- Coordinate project activities, including design, specification, sourcing, purchasing, installation, commissioning and validation
- Maintain and control project costs and schedule
- Liaise with HSE Department to ensure Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are met
- Design and develop equipment to meet production requirements
- Modify equipment for process upgrades
- Arrange provision of facilities for new products or upgrades
- Identify areas for new technologies to improve quality, efficiency or service
- Develop specifications for equipment or facility design/supply
- Arrange acceptance testing of equipment
- Provide technical support for projects from other departments
- Supervise technicians, contractors and service personnel during installation and commissioning
Specific Experience Requirements:
- Use of Permit to Work System or other Safe Systems of Work to control engineering activities
- Ownership for preparation of capital expenditure request and cost estimates
- Ownership, management and reporting of project budget spend
- Preparation of key project documents: Project Scope, User Requirement Specification, Vendor Audit Reports
- Direct supervision of vendor engineers and contractors during engineering works
Desirable Experience Requirements:
- Bulk Tabletting Manufacturing, including Granulation, Mixing, Compaction and Coating
- High speed tablet packaging, including Blistering, Sachetting, Cartoning and Labelling
- Topicals cream manufacture, including Compounding, Homogenisation and Tube Filling
- Sterile fill finish of liquid into vials or ampoules, including Compounding and Filling
- Sterilisation methods, including Autoclave, Terminal Sterilisation and Dry Heat Sterilisation
- Design and fabrication of process equipment for use in sterile manufacturing
- Small scale civil and construction/building works in a pharmaceutical facility
