Project Engineer (Field Based) Irish Driving License Must Project Engineers are proficient in the most common and popular server and networking technologies. In addition to possessing strong technical aptitudes, this individual excels as a communicator and manager, particularly when clients require strong guidance. The pace and demands in this environment are typically higher than those of an "in-house" position. The Senior Project Engineer should prioritize prompt communication with clients and excel in pre-project/work briefings. They must demonstrate a high degree of success in integrating and/or solving problems in environments rich in Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Cisco Internetworking, VPNs, firewalls, backup systems, and more. Department: Service and Support Reports to: Professional Services Manager Position Responsibilities: Documentation of Client Networks. Handling Small Projects. Assisting Senior Engineers on Larger projects. General service requests and Backup Maintenance. Installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and customization of MS Office Suite and third-party applications. End-user hardware installation, including video cards, NICs, sound cards, hard drives, and PDAs. Network Server Experience in Windows Server, including file, print, and remote access services configuration. Administration tasks such as user and group management, file permissions configuration, event log checks, and backup restoration. Enterprise e-mail application administration, including user and group management, folder permissions configuration, mail forwarding, and alias addition. Ownership of tasks and ensuring complete resolution with a focus on quality. Ability to pay attention to detail and handle stressful situations effectively. Willingness to seek technical expertise when needed. Providing accurate time estimates for task completion. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Previous MSP Experience. Experience with Windows desktop operating systems. Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet connectivity. Experience with routers and firewalls, preferably FortiGate/Fortinet. Experience with Terminal Services/RDS. Understanding of network components such as switches, hubs, patch panels, and DNS services. Working Knowledge of Firewall Technologies, preferably FortiGate/Fortinet. Working Knowledge of Wireless Technologies, preferably Ubiquiti. Participating in pre-sales activity and project planning. Mentoring new engineers/techs and showing leadership abilities. Strong growth mindset and willingness to further professional development. Ability to plan and deploy projects effectively. Credentials and Experience Expectations: IT/Computer Science related college qualification. Experience with Switching, VLAN, Routing, Firewalling Support, preferably FortiGate/Fortinet. Experience with Server Hardware Technologies, preferably Dell. Experience with Data Backup and Recovery Support and Corporate Antivirus Support. Experience with VPN Connectivity Support. Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+ (901, 902), CompTIA N, Microsoft, Cisco, Fortinet, Dell. Dependable engineer with a focus on maximizing billing opportunities and consistently receiving good client feedback.
