Project Engineer/Manager - Contract

Global biopharmaceutical company based in Dublin 15.

5-10 years experience as a Mechanical/Process Engineer with extensive Process Design & project management experience in the Pharmaceutical industry.

The purpose of the role is to coordinate and manage engineering projects from Concept Design through Implementation & Handover.

Main Duties to be Performed:

  1. Project Procurement – Design, Equipment Vendors, Construction Contractors, Commissioning & Qualification.
  2. Manage the project through the IPSEN stage Gate Process.
  3. Resource planning for the IPSEN project engineering team.
  4. CapEx Approvals – Local & Corporate.
  5. Project Planning - Manage the planning of the project to meet key milestones.
  6. Cost Control.
  7. Coordinate cross-functional meetings to meet objectives including Site Change Control Process.
  8. Report project performance on a regular basis to management using IPSEN project reporting systems.
  9. Write URSs and develop qualification protocols when required.

Specifics of Position:

  1. Manage, review & approve all design interfaces between Customer Team & Designers, Vendors & Contractors to ensure owner requirements are fully captured in the project design and delivered at handover.
  2. Equipment Procurement & Contract Awards.
  3. Prepare & submit CapEx Applications at the appropriate stage gates.
  4. Manage the involvement of the IPSEN customer team (both local & corporate) to the appropriate level.
  5. Ensure Owner Buy-in/Sign-off to the appropriate level at each stage gate.
  6. Coordinate & manage the C&Q phase ensuring Customer Team involvement at the appropriate level.
  7. Manage the Project Handover Process up to and including Maintenance systems updates.

Responsible for the adherence to our Site Safety Culture:

  1. Responsible for promoting a safety culture within their area and ensuring that plant personnel adhere to safe work practices and standard operating procedures.
  2. Carry out practical assessments of team members to ensure safety and quality compliance procedures are adhered to.
  3. Ensure a safe work environment for all employees and address any safety concerns promptly.
  4. Ensure all accidents/incidents/near misses are investigated in a timely manner and effective corrective and preventative actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
  5. Ensure closure of EHS actions raised from accidents/incidents, audits, risk assessments, etc. are managed and closed in a timely manner.
  6. Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained in the area.
  7. Ensure risk assessments for the area are carried out, documented, reviewed, and communicated to all relevant personnel.
  8. Ensure Management of Change from an EHS and GMP perspective in accordance with site systems and procedures.
  9. Responsible for ensuring that all safety and environmental-related issues are investigated in a timely manner and that reports are generated as required.
