Job Description

Job Purpose: Working across IDA Operations teams, with policymakers, industry groups, and the worlds leading companies, to deliver on IDAs Sustainability goals, IDAs Climate Action Plan and Irelands National Climate Action Plan, Sustainability Department has 3 important goals. Work across IDA Operations teams to deliver Green Capital and Sustainability investments in supporting clients to improve their environmental impact. Work closely with policy and regulatory teams in DETE and DECC, and with Industry groups to address and solve industrys Sustainability challenges. Work with IDA Corporate Services and Property teams to implement IDAs Climate Action Plan. Since 2021, the team has supported 79 Sustainability investments (132% of target) including 31 Green Capital investments with client expenditure of €209 million, to remove 70k tonnes of GHG emissions, worked closely with DETE and DECC to progress the publication of the National Offshore Wind Strategy, DECC RD&I Strategy, the completion of a National Decarbonisation of Industrial Heat Strategy, and has supported the timely delivery of various national policy initiatives including Circular Economy policies, Irelands biodiversity Strategy and National Hydrogen Strategy. And in April this year, the team completed IDAs first whole of business Climate Action Plan, with actions and initiatives to be implemented across IDA over the period 2024 2029. Key responsibilities: Proactively engage with IDA operations teams to influence the delivery of client sustainability investments that improves their environmental impact Manage the development and sharing of knowledge of Sustainability across IDAs global team to support innovation, creativity, and a strong influencing agenda Identify new industry and Sustainability opportunities, investment trends and marketing opportunities to support the delivery of goals and objectives. Complete market research on Sustainability related topics, including relevant data analysis and policy or regulatory matters, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating clear understanding of the topic and relevant priorities Strong oral and written communication, with experience and ability to lead challenging and impactful client conversations Present proposals to C-Suite client executives, IDA Executive and Investment Committees, IDA Board and sub-committees. A developing knowledge of IDAs Sustainability value propositions. Experience working on transformation and client growth strategies. Ability to analyse, interpret and understand client business plans. Strong client focused approach to building relationships, and delivering excellent client service Track record working with other teams in and outside IDA in creative and impactful ways Developing experience to influence decision makers in important stakeholder groups. Track record managing competing priorities and work responsibilities Key Competencies Required: Sales & Marketing Client Focused Relationship Building Networking Negotiation & Influencing Knowledge of the business Creativity & Innovation Project Management Communications & Personal Effectiveness Additional Requirements: Third level qualification, to a minimum Level 8 on the National Qualification Framework is essential. Demonstrated technical experience will be an advantage. This role will require international & domestic travel. Ability to work well under pressure, to show initiative, to work independently and on occasion to work outside of standard office hours. Flexibility and interest in career progression overseas. Demonstrated interest in personal development and continuous learning. Full driving licence is essential. Salary Scale €50,001 to €71,816 per annum contributory superannuation. N.B Must start at the minimum of the scale Rising by long service increments to €73,542 (after 3 years satisfactory service at the maximum of the range).
