Our client, a specialist in the water and energy sectors, is seeking a Project Manager to lead a solar farm project in Kildare. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing site managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure the safe, timely, and budget-friendly execution of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting directly to a Contracts Manager, overseeing site managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Ensuring the safe, timely, and budget-friendly execution of the project.
- Resolving unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
- Keeping the project team informed on all relevant aspects of technical and engineering issues.
- Ensuring contractors execute works as per method statement and risk assessment.
- Acting as the main technical adviser on the construction site.
- Ensuring all materials used and work performed are as per specifications.
- Assisting with the selection and requisition of materials and plant management.
- Liaising with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce.
- Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and subcontractors.
- Setting the highest possible standards of leadership in promoting HS&E procedures and best practice.
- Maintaining and managing construction sites and subcontractors.
- Establishing and promoting best quality, safety, and environmental practices.
- Promoting customer focus throughout the organisation.
Selection Criteria:
- Min. Third-level qualification in Construction/Civil Engineering or similar.
- Extensive experience of managing projects within a civils/water environment.
- Experience of MS Project.
- Valid Safe Pass and/or SMSTS and/or MSIC card holder.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and a methodical nature.
- Ability to lead, use initiative, and be self-motivated.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management and planning skills.
