Project Manager for Renewable Energy Construction Projects

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team in Cork, Ireland. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of renewable energy construction projects, including wind, solar, and grid services projects.

Statkraft is Europe's largest generator of renewable energy from hydro, wind and solar power. We have 6000 employees in 20 countries and have been making clean energy possible for over 125 years.

The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the project's requirements are met at various stages of development and construction. This includes:

  • Organising and leading the project team, including external consultants, contractors, and service providers.
  • Reporting on project status to the Project Steering Committee and senior management.
  • Implementing anti-corruption prevention measures and ensuring transparent reporting of incidents.
  • Ensuring internal communication and co-ordination between project staff and other parties with interfaces to the project.
  • Managing project meetings and recording minutes and agreed actions.
  • Supporting tendering processes for new projects.
  • Managing inputs from technical design teams to finalize project designs.
  • Using Statkraft's internal tools for payments, project tracking, safety, contract management, and risk management.
  • Contributing to the construction of wind, solar, battery storage, and other renewable energy projects, with a focus on high environmental and HSSE standards.

Key qualifications for the role include:

  • University degree in engineering or natural sciences with documented extensive experience.
  • Third Level Engineering College degree.
  • Work experience in managing renewable energy development projects with a proven track record of delivering renewable/large scale infrastructure projects through construction.
  • Strong technical understanding of renewable energy technology and experience of contracts and technical appendices for main technology supply contracts.
  • Excellent communication, relationship building, and management skills, including organisational ability and a target-oriented approach.
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, AutoCAD, and other applications.
  • Ability to concisely frame issues and provide context, analysis, recommendations, and risk/benefit assessments.
  • Independent self-starter with a clear ability to manage a large workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
