Project Manager - Commercial Developer Team
Deliver complex commercial office and residential schemes in Dublin, Ireland, with a minimum of 4 years project management experience in the commercial office and residential sector on projects over €50M.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising at a strategic level on project conception, including providing advice on approaches to achieve client objectives
- Establishing overall success criteria, including time, cost, technical, and performance parameters
- Planning and managing quality, safety, health, and environment issues
- Establishing effective project governance, processes, and systems
- Project planning, including production of detailed project plan
- Advising on procurement of resources
- Leading and facilitating cross-functional project team
- Monitoring and applying performance management techniques
- Managing change control process
- Monitoring and advising on project finances
- Managing flow of project information between team and client
- Ensuring production of formal project progress and other reports
- Interfacing with client and other consultants
People (HRM) Responsibilities:
- Maintain own learning and development plan
- Develop own professional competency level to agreed targets
- Attend training courses as identified in L&D plan
- Coach/mentor junior staff as directed/agreed in their L&D plans
- Ensure personal CVs are updated regularly and posted to People Pages
- Participate in CR volunteering day
Marketing and Business Development Responsibilities:
- Develop new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients
- Identify and act on cross-selling opportunities
- Work with Associate Directors and Directors to construct bids for new work
- Attend formal client pitches/events with Assistant Directors and Directors
- Ensure project case study, photograph, and project CV files are kept up to date
- Identify and act on opportunities to improve project management products and services
- Understand Turner & Townsend 2+2=5 philosophy and identify and act on cross-divisional opportunities
Internal Management Accountabilities:
- Staff management (where appropriate) - input into formal management of Assistant Project Manager or small project management team
- Knowledge management - ensure key information and learning generated from each project is input into Turner & Townsend internal database
- Financial management - ensure prompt client invoicing and utilize FMS to monitor project's financial status
- Process improvement - identify and act on ways to improve internal systems and processes
Health and Safety:
- Observe safety regulations
- Conform to local and national laws and guidelines
- Conform to Turner & Townsend Europe Limited (Energy) safety and security regulations commitment to implementation of the Risk-Assessment and Evaluation
Requirements:
- Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred
- A minimum of 4 years project management experience, preferably gained within the environment mentioned above
- Professionally qualified in one of the following fields: construction, project management, engineering, or architecture
- Has obtained chartered status or on path to achieving this
- A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from project conception stage, through all of the operational stages to completion and post-project review
- Excellent knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools, and techniques
- Design, management, or construction experience gained within the general construction environment, ideally residential, office, fit-outs, and health & education
