A project planner in a Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for planning, organizing, and scheduling project activities. They work with project managers and teams to develop project plans, including defining tasks, establishing timelines, and identifying resource requirements. A Project Planner/Scheduler monitors project progress, updates schedules as needed, and communicates with stakeholders to ensure projects stay on track. They play a crucial role in optimizing project efficiency, resource allocation, and overall project success within the PMO framework. While working as a Project Planner/Scheduler, you will be required to: Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to understand project objectives and requirements. Develop comprehensive project plans, including defining project scope, deliverables, tasks, and timelines. Create detailed project schedules using project management software and tools. Identify critical path activities and dependencies to optimize project timelines. Assess resource requirements and allocate personnel, equipment, and materials for project tasks. Ensure optimal resource utilization and avoid overallocation. Continuously monitor project progress and performance against the established schedule. Identify potential delays or risks and implement corrective actions. Generate regular progress reports and present them to project managers and stakeholders. Provide updates on project status, milestones, and variances from the original plan. Assist in identifying potential risks and uncertainties that could impact project timelines. Collaborate with project teams to develop risk mitigation strategies. Manage changes to the project schedule resulting from scope changes or unforeseen events. Assess the impact of changes on project timelines and communicate adjustments to stakeholders.
