Job Description

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Psychologist to join a multidisciplinary team (MDT) in Westmeath. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive psychological services to children and adolescents with Intellectual Disabilities. The successful candidate will play a vital role in conducting assessments and collaborating with the MDT to develop appropriate support plans. Key Responsibilities: Conduct psychological assessments using standardised tools to evaluate the needs of children and adolescents with Intellectual Disabilities. Collaborate with the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to provide holistic care plans for each individual, ensuring their emotional, cognitive, and social needs are met. Prepare and deliver detailed written reports outlining assessment findings, recommendations, and appropriate interventions. Advise and guide the team, families, and caregivers on the best therapeutic approaches, supports, and services to enhance the wellbeing and development of the children. Provide consultations and support to families, carers, and external stakeholders as needed. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of care services. Requirements: A postgraduate qualification in Psychology recognised by PSI. Previous experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with Intellectual Disabilities, is preffered but not essential. Strong assessment and report writing skills, with experience in standardised psychological assessment tools. Experience with ADOS/ADIR preferable but not necessary. Proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
