Job Description

Enable Ireland is seeking a highly-motivated Psychology Assistant to join its team in Meath, Ireland. The successful candidate will assist psychologists in providing services to children with disabilities.

Job Description

The post holder will assist psychologists in the provision of psychology services to children accessing the service as appropriate. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of psychology and experience working with children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist psychologists in the provision of psychology services to children accessing the service as appropriate.
  • Work with Clinical Psychologists and Health Care Professionals to provide support to children and their families.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of psychology services for children with disabilities.

Requirements:

  • Essential Criteria:
    • Have a Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) accredited qualification at not less than a Level 8 at 2.1 honours grade on the QQI qualifications framework in which psychology was a major subject.
    • OR A Level 8 honours degree in another subject (2.1 or higher) together with an accredited conversion qualification at a minimum of (2.1) as conferring eligibility for graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland.
    • OR A qualification equivalent to the above accredited by the British Psychological Society for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
    • OR A qualification equivalent to either (i) or (ii) which would allow the applicant to become a graduate member of the PSI.
  • Desirable Criteria:
    • Experience undertaking psychological tests, under supervision.
    • Any relevant post graduate training specific to child disability services.
    • An awareness and understanding of the features of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
