QA Automation Engineer - 6 Month day rate contract Our leading financial services client is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a strong focus on software quality and test automation. This hybrid role, based in Dublin IFSC Office, You will play a key role in reducing manual testing efforts and enhancing the overall test automation strategy within the organization. The ideal candidate has a solid Java programming background and hands-on experience in creating UI and API automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Rest Assured, and Cucumber. Additionally, experience with automated validation for complex dynamic content like PDF/Word templates is highly desirable. Role Requirements: Communication Skills: Strong communication is essential, as the role involves working closely with an agile team. Clear and concise communication skills are a key requirement. Java Expertise: Proficiency in Java, with active day-to-day use. Strong understanding of Java fundamentals and core concepts. Automation Expertise: Proven experience in adding automation coverage using Java-based frameworks. In-depth understanding of automation framework architecture and best practices. Ability to discuss automation frameworks in detail. Key Technical Skills: Experience with Maven and GIT. Enterprise-level experience with Selenium (UI automation) and Rest Assured (API automation). Experience with Cucumber/Serenity for test automation. Testing Expertise: Solid understanding of testing principles, including when to automate versus manual testing. Experience creating test strategies to validate new features and apply automation effectively. Demonstrated positive impact of automation on testing efforts. Familiarity with the latest industry test automation tools and best practices. Nice-to-Have Skills: Docker/Kubernetes experience. Experience in the financial services industry (preferred but not required). Educational Requirements: A 3rd-level degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
