Job Description

Seeking a QHSE Officer to enhance and expand Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental credentials and projects, working closely with stakeholders to develop and promote best practices.

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in quality, health and safety or sustainability, be a quick learner, adaptable to change, and highly organized with expertise in either quality, health and safety or sustainability.

The QHSE Officer will work together with stakeholders to develop and promote a culture of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment, engaging with operational teams and supporting and educating them on the importance of QHSE standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the QHSE Manager in improving performance through monitoring and inspections of QHSE management systems and procedures.
  • Managing day-to-day system integrity and compliance by problem solving, auditing, training, and updating documents and records.
  • Advising managers and staff on matters associated with legislation, best practice, and correct interpretation of defined standards.
  • Ensuring the Company Health & Safety Statement, Policies and Environmental Management System Manual & Policies are developed and implemented consistently across the organisation.
  • Assisting in identifying and investigating Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental issues/incidents and driving corrective and preventive actions.
  • Supporting the QHSE Team in logging and tracking internal accident investigations and working with management to continuously improve controls and compliance.
  • Assisting the QHSE Team with the maintenance and attainment of certifications for all sites.

Essential skills include:

  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills.
  • Ability to summarize and articulate large volumes of information to meet different needs of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytically minded and competent using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of reporting frameworks and industry standards.
  • Initiative and good decision-making skills.
  • Reliable with a flexible and adaptable approach to work with a positive attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety Legislation and ESG requirements.
  • Comprehension of the challenges that the logistics industry face with regards to Energy and ESG Management.
  • Able to drive with a Full Clean driving License.

Desirable requirements include:

  • Experience in managing ESG issues and disclosures, preferably in the Logistics, Gas and Biomethane industry.
  • Experience and knowledge of the transport industry.
  • European languages.
  • Keen ambition to learn and progress within the sustainability arena.
  • Knowledge of the quality standards such as ISO, BRC etc.
  • Knowledge of current ESG requirements in Ireland EU such as CSRD, SDG etc.
  • GHG emissions calculations and monitoring.
