The company has over 900 employees, with plants in Troon, Invergordon, and Edinburgh in the UK, and Longford, Fermoy, and Enniskillen in Ireland.

DTE, a subsidiary of Glennon Brothers, specialises in the manufacture, supply, and installation of Timber Frame Homes and Engineered Roof Trusses to the construction industry and to one-off self-builders. The company has steadily increased its presence in the market and now holds a strong reputation within the industry for its quality of workmanship and product and professional service to clients.

As the group prepares for continued growth and investment in the UK and Ireland, Glennon Brothers has now expanded its business with a recent €15 million investment in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Longford, Ireland.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of manufacturing processes, including quality control procedures, and be self-motivated with good IT skills. The candidate will work closely with the Plant/Production Manager along with manufacturing, logistics, design, and site teams, and will report directly to the Head of Timberframe.

  • Manage and guide the quality function to support all production lines.
  • Set requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance.
  • Maintain and develop SOPs in line with business processes.
  • Manage and develop check sheets and photographic evidence for Factory Production and Sites.
  • Act as the primary quality contact between Production, Design, Supply Chain, Sites, and Customers, including site visits as and when required.
  • Address and resolve all quality-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations across the DTE business.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
  • Conduct regular quality audits & assessments and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage Internal and External Audits associated with the Quality Management System.
  • Identify and raise any quality/compliance issues and follow up on their resolution.
  • Prepare and present weekly/monthly KPI reports on quality performance to management.
  • Communicate quality performance, issues, and improvements effectively across all levels of the business.
  • Develop and implement quality processes and procedures in compliance with company requirements.
  • To obtain & manage various accreditations for the business, i.e.: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, etc.
  • Train and mentor staff on quality control process and procedures.
  • Develop and instill recognition of a Quality culture across management teams and operations teams.
  • Adhering to company policies on safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Produce Process Flow Mapping for various sections within DTE.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Quality Manager with good knowledge of process systems.
  • Technically astute individual with ability to manage QA/QC policies and procedures across a large manufacturing plant.
  • Good working knowledge of industry standards and building regulations.
  • Passion for quality and continuous improvement with a focus on practical delivery.
  • Efficient user of office programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Relevant understanding of timber frame housing.
  • Excellent technical ability demonstrated through previous projects/roles.
  • Excellent communication skills and skilled collaborator.
