Quality Assurance Officer role at UCD National Virus Reference Laboratory: Ensure quality and competence in laboratory testing, implement and maintain quality system, and support clinical and technical on-call service.
The National Virus Reference Laboratory (NVRL) plays a crucial role in the Irish Health Services as the principal diagnostic and reference service for clinicians investigating virus infections. The laboratory offers approximately 170 tests for the diagnosis of at least 45 different pathogens and performs over 930,000 tests per annum.
The Quality Assurance Officer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and competence of laboratory testing, implementing and maintaining the quality system, and supporting the clinical and technical on-call service.
The NVRL is accredited by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a National Laboratory for Poliovirus, Influenza, Measles, and Rubella, and by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB).
Salary: €69,288- €85,100 per annum, on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
