Quality Officer Job In Kilkenny

A Quality Assurance Officer is sought for a busy manufacturing site in Kilkenny to maintain Food Safety & Quality Management Systems and Standards.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment, with a good knowledge of Quality Management Systems and Food safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain Food Safety & Quality Management Systems and Standards, including ISO 9001, HACCP and customers' standards.
• Work with the Quality Team to assess compliance of systems, facilities, and procedures through internal audits and assessments.
• Implement Change Control and maintain appropriate documentation as per procedure.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement across all areas and initiate a culture of Food Safety responsibility across all levels.
• Implement Approved Suppliers Program and review accordingly.
• Review customer specifications, raw material specifications, Safety Data Sheets and packaging specifications as required.
• Co-ordinate and investigate customer complaints and record as per procedure.
• Conduct daily checks across the site to verify compliance.
• Co-ordinate the calibration of all testing and measurement devices.

Essential Requirements:

• 3rd Level degree in Food Science, Agricultural Science or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience in a similar role within the Food/Feed Industry.
• Knowledge of quality standards and regulations (e.g. ISO, BRC, HACCP, GMP).
• Strong IT skills with knowledge of SAP an advantage.
• A motivated team player with excellent communication skills and great attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills and problem solving abilities.
