Abbott is a global healthcare leader with a diverse portfolio of life-changing technologies. We are seeking highly skilled Quality Technicians and Manufacturing Technicians to join our team in Clonmel, Ireland.

Job Summary:

  • Quality Technicians will assist in reviewing and analysing data to determine manufacturing issues and trends, and will develop and implement process improvements to improve yield and reduce cycle time.
  • Manufacturing Technicians will be responsible for performing equipment setup and maintenance, and for installing and validating equipment and processes to improve yield and reduce cycle time.

As a Quality Technician or Manufacturing Technician at Abbott, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of experienced professionals. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a variety of areas, including quality systems, manufacturing processes, and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Technicians:
    • Review and analyse data to determine manufacturing issues and trends.
    • Develop and implement process improvements to improve yield and reduce cycle time.
    • Assist in the design, development, evaluation or modification of equipment, materials, systems, and/or product.
  • Manufacturing Technicians:
    • Perform equipment setup and maintenance.
    • Install and validate equipment and processes to improve yield and reduce cycle time.
    • Conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.

Requirements:

  • Quality Technicians:
    • National Framework of Qualifications level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline and 4+ years of related work experience.
    • Extensive knowledge of advanced technical concepts and practices.
    • Ability to apply knowledge of quality systems and manufacturing processes.
  • Manufacturing Technicians:
    • National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline.
    • Relevant work experience advantageous but not essential.
    • Basic knowledge of technical concepts and practices.
