Job Description

Quantity Surveyor role in Aviva's dynamic Customer Experience Team, handling property claims and contributing to strategic decision-making.

As a Quantity Surveyor in Aviva's dynamic Customer Experience Team, you will play a key role in the strategic handling of property claims, driving technical excellence and contributing to the company's success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive technical excellence through effective identification and scoping of work, ensuring high-quality results and efficient project delivery.
  • Analyze repair/reinstatement costs, negotiate costs/contracts/schedules, and ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards.
  • Calculate quantities and costs for materials, labour, and timeframes, and prepare tender packages including bills of quantities.
  • Manage risk, value engineer, and cost control measures to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate proposed projects, and provide expert advice on engineering and construction principles.

Requirements

  • Insurance qualification (APA/CIP) is desirable, but not essential, as appropriate training can be provided.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong maths, numerical, and data analysis skills, and project management capabilities.
  • Understanding of engineering and construction principles, knowledge of market rates/trends, and excellent negotiation skills.
  • A high degree of flexibility and self-motivation, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
