Job Description

Aviva's dynamic Customer Experience Team seeks a Quantity Surveyor to handle property claims strategically. The role involves detailed cost estimation, thorough examination of quantities, and proactive claim settlement progression.

  • Drive technical excellence through effective identification and scoping of work.
  • Analyse repair/reinstatement costs and negotiate costs/contracts/schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards.
  • Calculate quantities and costs for materials, labour, and timeframes.
  • Prepare tender packages including bills of quantities.
  • Manage risk, value engineer, and cost control measures.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate proposed projects.

Involvement in all aspects of residential and commercial claims.

Requirements

  • Insurance qualification (APA/CIP) is desirable but not essential.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong maths, numerical, and data analysis skills.
  • Project management capabilities.
  • Understanding of engineering and construction principles.
  • Knowledge of market rates/trends.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • A high degree of flexibility and self-motivation.
