Project Cost Management Reviewing Tender budgets and carrying out validation of same ensuring all scope has been captured and identify any risks. Developing detailed cost plans and ensuring plans are updated on a weekly basis. Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuations, and final accounts. Ensure payment certificates are processed, and payments are made according to the agreed sub-contract and procurement terms, including retentions as per agreements. Prepare weekly and monthly commercial project reports, including updated cost plans, cash flow forecasts, schedule updates, and risk assessments, and present them to senior management in the monthly project reviews. Contract Management Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Manage contract changes and variations, including claims and dispute resolution. Administer contract obligations and meet additional client requirements. Issue interim and final accounts and progress applications per project and contract requirements. Monthly applications should include accurate remeasures, site changes, dayworks, and any applicable contract claims. Have a practical understanding of scheduling and its associated commercial implications. Ensure close collaboration with the Project Planner and Project Manager for accurate progress reporting. Procurement In collaboration with the Project and Procurement Team oversee the procurement process, including the selection of suppliers and subcontractors. Evaluate and negotiate tenders and bids to ensure best value for money and ensure all Subcontract Orders are placed in accordance with the Company’s process and procedures. Manage supplier relationships and performance. Risk Management Identify and assess project risks, developing mitigation strategies. Monitor and manage risk throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure all risk management activities are documented and communicated effectively. Identify potential commercial risks and promptly report them to Senior Management. Follow Senior Management’s direction in undertaking work duties. Client Management Liaise with clients, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met and have the ability to negotiate commercial and contractual topics. Attend project meetings and provide input on cost and contractual matters. Build and maintain strong relationships with all project stakeholders. Conduct and manage interim commercial meetings with clients and the internal project team. Team Leadership and Development Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to execute various project stages. Lead and mentor junior quantity surveyors and other team members. Set an example of enthusiasm, loyalty, and hard work in all duties. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance project delivery. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
