Deloitte is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor to join our tax team. About the role The successful candidate will be working within a specialist service line called tax depreciation that is led by Chartered Quantity Surveyors and is part of the firm's tax department. This is a highly rewarding role and one which a Quantity Surveyor is uniquely positioned to exploit. Your main responsibilities will be to Advise the construction and accounting personnel teams involved in a capital project on the optimum strategy for collating and recording expenditure to ensure capital allowances are maximised and support a robust claim Ensure that the taxpayer is entitled to claim the capital allowances by reviewing legal documentation and the tax legislation Produce high level estimates of potential capital allowances available ensuring that the appropriate assumptions and caveats are outlined Produce capital allowances reports, including liaising with the construction design team, analysing all relevant costs and reconciling with the company's financial statements Develop excellent business development skills and build up client relationships to gain an understanding of their business and particular requirements Produce well scoped proposals and letters of engagement to ensure the clients brief is appropriately considered and addressed Provide advice within the department and externally to clients on tax technical matters relating to capital allowances legislation. Advise clients on how to structure third party contributions in a tax efficient manner. Deal with Revenue on queries relating to capital allowances and related matters. About you Degree in Quantity Surveying Excellent analytical and communication skills, both oral and written Flexible approach and committed team player Willingness to learn and progress Ability to work on own initiative Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint Full training will be provided including supporting the successful candidate If you believe that you meet most of the criteria above, we encourage you to apply.
