Job Description

Quantity Surveyors Client side project management of a major capital budget plan - major and minor capital building and refurbishment works. Vacancies in Dublin, Limerick, Donegal, Kilkenny, Galway, Sligo, Offaly and Meath. These services include design, specification, project management, procurement, contractual, commercial, supervision associated with major and minor capital building and refurbishment works, risk and asset management, property services, fire, health and safety issues etc. Procurement of professional design services, construction works and equipment. Support in the provision and management of estates services through the provision of specific procurement, contractual and commercial related advice and support in accordance with policy, agreed budgets and agreements at a national, regional and local level, and in compliance with public procurement regulations and other relevant statutory requirements Provide professional advice on all aspects of procurement, contract, and commercial related issues which related to the delivery of capital projects. Manage the performance of the appointed Design Team Quantity Surveying consultant in particular to ensure that they are providing the specific deliverables as set out in their agreed scope of service. Prepare standards and guidance for capital investment and development, with particular reference to spatial standards, cost norms, procurement processes and sustainable design. Promoting achievement of quality in relation to professional services, project outcomes, and sustainable health infrastructure. Assist with the implementation of a standardised cost reporting structure which will capture key cost, risk, procurement and programme related data Checking design team fees accounts with regards to agreed fees and certification of same. He/she shall process payments to contractors and design team firms for payment in accordance with constraints set down in contract documents, forms of agreement and statutory provisions. Preparation of progress reports on Capital developments as required. The implementation of Government public procurement policy as advised by the Principal Quantity Surveying Adviser at a regional level. Promoting effective and efficient capital procurement practices for the selection and contract award of design team and construction services. At least 3 years QS experience with a main contractor, PQS practice or Institution. Must have level 8 qualification in Surveying, Construction or Engineering discipline Skills: Quantity Surveying PQS Cost Management Construction Management Estimating Benefits: 30 days holidays
