With significant growth over the past few years, the hospitals Radiation Oncology Manager is now seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist to join the team on a permanent basis. The Successful Candidate: You will become an integral part of a team of leading Radiation Oncologists and Medical Physicists, working with state-of-the-art technology and advanced treatment systems. Position Overview: As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Radiation treatment to cancer patients in accordance with the prescribed treatment plan. You will work closely with oncologists and physicists to ensure accurate dose delivery while providing compassionate care to patients undergoing treatment. Key Responsibilities: Fosters a compassionate and supportive environment for patients of all ages, visitors, healthcare professionals, and colleagues consistently. Administers radiation therapy in strict accordance with the prescribed treatment plan and physician orders. Ensures patient safety by adhering to departmental protocols and procedures during treatment delivery. Identifies and promptly reports any deviations from the prescribed treatment plan to the clinical specialist, lead therapist, and physicist. Ensures the accuracy and quality of treatment delivery by thoroughly documenting treatment records. Verifies treatment portal alignment by capturing and reviewing electronic portal images in accordance with departmental guidelines. Makes necessary adjustments to treatment fields when required. Clearly communicates treatment procedures to patients and/or their families and directs medical inquiries to the appropriate personnel. Conducts and records daily and weekly quality assurance (QA) activities for assigned equipment, noting any deviations from established norms and immediately informing the clinical specialist and lead therapist of any irregularities. Participates in departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of care and attends relevant quality assurance functions. Engages in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Completes the daily treatment schedule and accurately records all procedures, including billing information and relevant codes. Eligibility Criteria: Must hold a recognised qualification in Radiation Therapy. Must hold CORU registration. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist in a hospital setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment. Commitment to continuous professional development and education. Excellent time management skills and attention to detail. Enthusiastic attitude and proactive approach to learning and improvement.
