Job Description

PepsiCo Internship Programme is a 6-8 month program designed for high potential undergraduate students, just like you, into real life business impact roles – with the goal to best prepare you for a successful future. We are now looking to hire an R&D Laboratory Technician Intern to join the team in Cork, Ireland starting next year for the duration of 6-8 months. Who We Are: We are the concentrate team in PepsiCo working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. We are at the heart of PepsiCo products, sourcing ingredients to manufacture more than 1,200 recipes for our brands. We are a global organisation, situated in 15 locations across 6 countries offering careers in various functions from Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Finance, R&D, HR and IT. We collaborate in our fast-paced global organisation and are passionate about creating and delivering much-loved household brands to markets across the world. Responsibilities: Performs analytical testing on samples as per test schedule in compliance with PepsiCo Global procedures and standards. Ensures an adequate supply of consumables, reagents and chemicals to maintain the operation of the lab. Prepares lab solutions, reagents and controls in the lab. Analysis includes operating a wide variety of instrumentations including but not limited to CO2, Brix and TA. Demonstrate competent use of laboratory business information and reporting systems (LIMS). Reviews and interprets test results. Work with team, Quality Manager and Laboratory Manager to ensure compliance to GQS Quality Management System, as well as ISO17025 requirements and accreditation body requirements. Develops reference files, quality control charts, and graphs on laboratory data. Participate and demonstrate competency in proficiency testing schemes, and ensure adequate follow up to the results recovered. Demonstrate adherence to site and MS Health & Safety and Good Laboratory Practice policies and procedures. Ensure good housekeeping and good laboratory practices. Essential Criteria: Working towards a science related degree - Analytical Chemistry/Nutritional Science/Food Science/Technology qualification. Interest in food/beverages and the food and beverage industry. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Flexibility regarding priority changes. Positive attitude and ability to work in a cross functional and global environment (cultural awareness). Good organizational, time-management and teamwork skills. Self-starter, proactive in delivering results and a good organiser. Cooperate with co-workers within an organized team environment or work alone with supervision. Manage time effectively to complete assignments in expected time frame. Additional Desired Criteria: Excellent people skills. Team player. Self-starter and eager to learn.
