Job Description

Product Development Engineer responsible for designing and developing new products, managing projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work on diverse projects, both internally and on behalf of clients, as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Liaise with internal user-centered design and manufacturing functions to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Support concept development, feasibility, design, and testing stages of new products or product enhancements.
  • Develop mechanical design solutions for early stage and end stage product development.
  • Use SolidWorks 3D CAD to create complex assemblies and surface modeling, and develop 2D drawings as needed.
  • Ensure customer requirements are defined, translated into product development specifications, and ultimately delivered.
  • Manage and support prototyping/testing concept designs and initial engineering builds.
  • Develop product specification and test method development of design verification test protocols and reports.
  • Resolve design, testing, and manufacturing issues using appropriate mathematic theory and FEA/simulation analysis.
  • Complete process development activities such as tolerance development to ensure robust function and process capability.
  • Communicate design and engineering concepts using Adobe Suite.

Project Management / Documentation / Quality / PR

  • Monitor project performance against scope, timing, budget, risk, and report variance.
  • Prepare reports to communicate status and results internally and to customers.
  • Compile product specification packages for production release.
  • Ensure documentation is completed in compliance with internal and external regulatory and quality requirements.
  • Participate in PR and sales support activity as required.

Requirements

  • Level 8 degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Engineering experience in medical device or other highly regulated environments is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-driven and able to deliver.
  • High energy with adaptability and flexibility to deal with continuous change and innovation.
