Ready Steady Work Project Coordinator Grade V Reporting to:Academic Admin&StudentAffairsManager, ASAM(Cork) Location:Bishopstown Campus, Cork. Duration:Fixed Term Contract to 30th June 2026 Part Time:3 days per week Funding/Project: TSAF Recruitment Type:External Overview Of the Role Munster Technological Universitys (MTU) Access Service, on the Cork campus, promotes widening participation of groups who are currently underrepresented in higher education.These groups include, but are not limited to, students with disabilities, students who experience socio economic disadvantage, mature students, ethnic minorities, students with experience of care etc. The Ready Steady Work Project Coordinator will work in collaboration with students who have applied to the Universitys Disability Support Service (DSS), as well as employers, industry partners and employer support organisations, and will assist the Ready Steady Work Officer with programme development, workplace needs assessments for placement, mentoring and student liaison. The post holder will also provide support to MTU students who have access to the DSS around internships, graduate roles, and career mentoring opportunities for students with a disability. The post holder will provide support and information to employer partners of MTU regarding best practice for the recruitment of people with disabilities, and liaise with internal departments in MTU such as Extended Campus, Academic Departments, Careers Service etc. The post-holder will be expected to have highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal; empathy and discretion; and to be available to respond to student and employer queries in a timely manner. The person appointed will have a commitment to the development ofgreater opportunities for access to employment for students with disabilities. Location, level, and relationship within management structure MTUwishestoappointaReadySteadyWorkProjectCoordinatorwhowillberesponsibleforsupporting the Ready Steady Work Officer to develop an employability programme in MTU for students with disabilities.ThepostholderwillworkwithstudentswhohaveappliedtoMTUDisabilitySupportService on the Cork Campuses and will be based in the MTU Access service on the Bishopstown campus, Cork and will report to the Disability Support Officer/ Access Officer (Cork campuses). Duties and Responsibilities of the role The person appointed will play a key role in supporting the development and coordination of an employability programme for students with disabilities inMTU on the Cork Campuses and will support the implementation of this employability programme. The successful candidate will: WorkunderthesupervisionoftheReadySteadyWorkOfficertosupportthedevelopmentandroll out of a new employability programme for MTU students who have applied to MTU DSS. Assist in communicating with existing employer partners and developing new relationships with employers, industry partners and employment support organisations. Link with existing MTU students who have applied to MTU DSS to promote and encourage engagement with the programme. Assist in the completion of workplace needs assessments for MTU students with disabilities who are going on placement as part of their programme of study. LiaisewiththeDisabilitySupportServiceandAccessServiceteammemberstoincreaseawareness, engagement, and promotion of the programme. Assist in the development and preparation of promotional materials and resources for the programme. Assist and support the Ready Steady Work Coordinator to ensure the efficient running of the programme. Liaise with students, the Disability Support Service and Access Service team members to increase awareness, engagement, and promotion of the programme Liaise closely with employer contacts, industry partners, internal MTU departments such as ExtendedCampus,DSS,Access,CareersandAcademicDepartments,PlacementCoordinatorsetc. and maintain professional working relationships with all stakeholders Assistintheplanninganddesignofprogrammeelementsandeffectivelyprepareforemployerand student engagement. Be aware and efficient when opportunities present regarding potential internships, employment, placement etc. Assist in developing networks of employers in the region and support employers and industry partners to actively take part in the programme. Assist in the development and delivery of presentations and information sessions with students, employers etc. Assist in supporting and advising students with applications for internships, placement, graduate roles etc and give advice to students on CV preparation, disclosure, the application, and interview process. Generaterequiredreportsontheoperationoftheprogrammeasrequired. Contributetooverall planningand strategicdirection oftheprogramme. UndertakeotherrelevantdutiesfromtimetotimeasdirectedbytheASAM Essential Thesuccessfulcandidatewillhaveminimumacademicqualificationsandexperienceasfollows: Have obtained at least Grade D3 in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate Examination (higher, ordinary, applied, or vocational programmes) or equivalent or have passed an examination at the appropriate level within the QQI qualifications framework which can be assessed as being of a comparable to Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent or higher orhave appropriate relevant experience which encompasses equivalent skills and expertise; Desirable Level8HonsDegreeQualificationinarelevantarea Experienceworkingdirectlywithpeoplewithdisabilities,healthconditionsand/orspecificlearning differences. TrainingorEventmanagement experience. Experience of working with employers, industry and disability and the barriers to the inclusion of people with disabilities in employment. Proven competency in IT applications - proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint,and Excel, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent and proven organisational skills with a high attention to detail in managing diverse and demanding workload.
