This is a Community Employment Scheme vacancy and certain eligibility is required: Community Employment Programme

The Receptionist is responsible for providing secretarial, clerical and administrative support in order to ensure that services are provided in an effective and efficient manner.

Shift times: 3pm - 10pm. 3 shifts per week.

Overview:

  • Ensure all visitors to the YMCA are welcomed in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide all customers/visitors with the information they require in a timely and professional manner.
  • Deal with general enquiries including bookings both in person and by telephone.
  • Operation of the public address system.
  • Hiring of equipment, taking of deposits, selling goods and giving change.
  • Maintain a good product knowledge of the services available across the YMCA.
  • Ensure that the reception area is maintained in a clean and tidy manner at all times.
  • Ensure that cash handling procedures are adhered to.
  • Complete all systems/processes/procedures during and at the end of each shift.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Take bookings and monies and reconcile cash with bookings at the end of the day.
  • Control entry into the YMCA.
  • Be responsible for the safe handling, administration and storage of all financial transactions.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate operation of the computer-based booking system.
  • Provide a first line of communication for enquiries, complaints and messages.
  • Provide information and advice on YMCA activities and services.
  • Liaise with the Management team to seek consistent improvements in efficiency and customer service.
  • Attend team meetings and staff training sessions as required.
  • Be knowledgeable of the different services within the organisation.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support.
  • Upsell Crèche, Gym Membership and Room Rentals.
  • Manage and resolve customer complaints and compliments.
  • Process orders, forms, applications and requests.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments.
  • Undertake other duties and hours of work as may be reasonably required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: €259.50 per week
