Job Description
We are seeking a Recreation Assistant to join our team at our Leisure Centre. As a Recreation Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our customers. Your duties will include guiding and caring for customers, facilitating a friendly and efficient working relationship, and working as part of a team to achieve our objectives and usage targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and enjoyment of customers using the Leisure Centre
- Manage all aspects of daily activities, including wet and dry sites
- Guide, care for, and assist customers
- Facilitate a friendly and efficient working relationship with customers
- Work as part of a team to achieve objectives and usage targets
- Innovate ideas and initiate action to increase centre usage
- Ensure facilities are presented to the highest levels of cleanliness and comfort
- Assist the Duty Manager in controlling and securing the facility
- Be aware of health and safety issues and implement procedures to address them
Requirements
- Good general education and desire to achieve a leisure management qualification
- Current first aid qualification and RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (ideal)
- Ability to gain acceptance and respect from clients and teams
- Ability to communicate throughout the organisation
- Ability to meet demands of the role by working additional hours when required
- Ability to demonstrate clear identification with customer requirements
- Team player with ability to develop the role on your own initiative

Some Recreation Assistant positions may require a DBS Disclosure. If you do not already hold a DBS Disclosure, you will be required to undergo a DBS check.
