We are seeking a Regional Health & Safety Lead to oversee and manage health and safety practices across multiple locations within the region.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment, and promoting best practices in safety and welfare across the organization.
This position is a full-time role, offering a 39-hour work week, with a competitive salary aligned with the HSE grade scale.
The successful candidate must have experience working in environments that include neurodiverse individuals, ensuring an inclusive approach to safety and well-being for all employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with current regulations and organizational guidelines.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures, with special attention to neurodiverse-friendly environments and inclusive practices.
- Provide health and safety training to staff, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices, including considerations for neurodiverse individuals in the workplace.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, ensuring that corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence, while being mindful of neurodiverse employees' needs.
- Liaise with management and staff to promote a culture of health and safety awareness and continuous improvement across all teams.
- Maintain up-to-date records of health and safety-related documentation, reports, and training records.
- Ensure compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, including the safety of all employees, with an inclusive focus on neurodiverse individuals.
- Ensure that all facilities meet legal requirements in relation to fire safety, hygiene, and other regulatory aspects, creating an accessible and safe environment for all employees.
- Manage safety-related projects and initiatives aimed at improving workplace safety, with a focus on inclusive environments for neurodiverse individuals.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the region.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Mandatory: Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work – NISO Certificate (or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a health and safety environment, preferably at a management level within the HSE or similar.
- Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and audits.
- Experience working in environments that include neurodiverse individuals is preferred.
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence others.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to safety management.
- Ability to ensure the safety and well-being of neurodiversity individuals in the workplace in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Other Requirements:
- Full, clean driving license with a minimum of 2 years driving experience.
- Must be over 23 years of age and have 2 years driving experience (due to company insurance requirements).
- Willingness to travel regularly within the region.
