Job Description

REGIONAL MANAGER A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a publicly funded organisation in the West of Ireland. Reporting to the Board of Directors, they seek to hire a Regional Manager for their service who will be responsible for implementing an agreed national strategic plan in relation to the delivery of financial advice within the assigned region. This will suitable someone coming from a publicly funded, not for profit organization, who has a finance background. This is a permanent role which can be located out of Galway City, Roscommon Town or Ballina. Adhoc travel and over time, maybe required on a case-by-case basis. This is paid to a public sector salary scale, with an excellent benefits package, including 31 days annual leave and a pension contribution to name but two. RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategy & Policy *Contribute to the national/regional strategy for the organisation where appropriate and develop a regional service delivery plan with relevant stakeholders. Review, development and implementation of national and regional policy for the organisation. Service Delivery *Ensure efficient delivery of service by management of resources, prioritising regional and area work, identifying and implementing quality service standards in conjunction with local management. Corporate Governance *Support the Board to implement good corporate governance through governance documentation, risk review assessments, financial checks etc. across the region. Finance & Planning *Responsible for finance and planning for the region to include management of regional budgets and reports, implementing cost centre planning process and drafting the annual financial plan for the region. *Overseeing appropriate controls are in place in terms of the management of any client monies in line with best practice and relevant legislation or regulation. *Oversee premises and facilities development and management in conjunction with local management. HR Management *Support the HR function as and when required ensuring correct application of the organisation policies and procedures with all relevant stakeholders. *Assist in the recruitment of staff and attend staffing meeting where necessary. *Agree process for recruiting staff with local management. Networking & Communication *Develop and maintain a network of contacts at a national and regional level to facilitate problem solving and information sharing through forums, groups and building out the organisations network with relatable organisations, including promoting teamwork between other organisations funded by government. Leadership & Management *Lead, motivate and develop staff. *Maximise contribution of the team toward implementation of national, regional and local action plans. *Provide direct management to staff. *Delegate decision making and authority to local management as appropriate. *Conduct PMDS with all staff reporting directly to this position. *Oversee training of all staff at a regional level. REQUIREMENTS *3rd level qualification Essential *Experience working in a publicly funded organisation, perhaps Not For Profit - Highly desirable. *Further experience working in the capacity of either Accountancy, Financial Advice, Debt Advice, Management or Finance Highly Desirable *Accountancy qualification Desirable *A minimum of five years experience in a relevant management position. *Knowledge and understanding of consumer debt, financial services, insolvency, money management and education - Desirable *Experience in staff supervision, staff training, customer service, evaluation and monitoring procedures, promotion and publicity. *Experience in project management. *Quality focus and networking skills.
