Registered Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Headache

This role involves delivering specialist nursing care in line with the five core concepts set out in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse Specialist posts.

About the Role

  • Deliver specialist nursing care in line with the five core concepts set out in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse Specialist posts.
  • Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing a patient-centered quality and seamless service.
  • Establish and provide nurse-provided video-linked clinics (tele-medicine) to support a programme of self-care and provision of services within the community.

Requirements

  • Be a Registered Nurse/Midwife on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Have a minimum of 1 year's post-registration full-time experience in the specialist area of Headache care.
  • Have successfully completed a post-registration programme of study, as certified by the education provider, which verifies that the applicant has achieved a Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 9 or higher award that is relevant to the specialist area of care.
  • Be required to demonstrate that they have continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the specialist area.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

  • Nurse Prescribing Registration.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare patient record systems.
  • Research experience.
  • Excellent keyboard skills.

This role requires a high standard of suitability and clinical, leadership, managerial, and administrative capacity for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
