Registered Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Headache
This role involves delivering specialist nursing care in line with the five core concepts set out in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse Specialist posts.
About the Role
- Deliver specialist nursing care in line with the five core concepts set out in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse Specialist posts.
- Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing a patient-centered quality and seamless service.
- Establish and provide nurse-provided video-linked clinics (tele-medicine) to support a programme of self-care and provision of services within the community.
Requirements
- Be a Registered Nurse/Midwife on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Have a minimum of 1 year's post-registration full-time experience in the division of the register in which the application is being made.
- Have a minimum of 1 year's experience in specialist area of Headache care.
- Have successfully completed a post-registration programme of study, as certified by the education provider.
Desirable Qualifications
- Nurse Prescribing Registration.
- Working knowledge of healthcare patient record systems.
- Research experience.
About the Team
The Headache service in St. James's Hospital will be delivered through a hub and spoke model with an emphasis on self-management.
The CNS in Headache will work in close collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to focus on an integrated approach to the management of headache in the community and via tele-medicine.
The successful candidate will have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his/her/their professional responsibility within his/her/their scope of practice.
