Job Description
Reinsurance Accounting Technician: Analyze and process reinsurance contracts, ensure accuracy, and work closely with financial teams to deliver key results.
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing reinsurance contracts, analyzing data, and ensuring accuracy in reinsurance. They will work closely with the Financial Reporting, Investments, Technology, and Compliance team to achieve the team's key deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Main point of contact relating to contract acceptance for all business providers.
- Coordination of all new and renewal contracts, liaising with business partners and senior management.
- Review of all contract documentation, including terms and conditions, and risk transfer analysis.
- Analysis of all contracts for Board Reports for senior management.
- Preparing and delivering quarterly underwriting results.
- Liaising with cedants to arrange timely receipt of cessions statements/bordereau/statements of account.
- Reviewing and processing quarterly cession data, including premium, claims, commission, and reserves.
- Analysing the results and preparing commentaries for reporting to Chief Underwriter.
- Preparation of balance reconciliations.
- Management of Cashflows - premium/receipts and claims payments.
- Reviewing claims received to source data to ensure they are valid.
- Updating and monitoring remittance reconciliation report.
- Ensure that Internal Controls are followed and maintaining accounts files for Internal Control.
- Preparing documents for Internal and external Audit.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years related reinsurance technical accounting experience required.
- Broad knowledge of accounting practices and procedures highly desirable.
- Bachelors degree in business, finance, or related field.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
